Communication Creation

I don't know if anyone is aware, but I had a very cruddy, old, falling-apart phone. I say had, because in September, this phone was lost during a game of Mission Imposible at me school, in the dark. It was never seen again. Good riddance.

I had tried with a certain unnamed phone/whatnot providing company to get a phone—in early October. I paid for it, I ordered it, I waited.

Long story very short: the order was cancelled by the company, Mahara was frustrated, and swore not to use them again.

Today, however, I have now ordered the exact same phone, directly from Apple, and have a shipment date ready. I have ordered a SIM card from a phone provider, and will not be signing a contract—I will be doing the pay-as-you-go system (because contracts scare me), and will have a phone in approximately two weeks.

Three cheers for communication!

Plugged In?

I'm so tired of shoddy internet connections! Mine on campus has been glitching out through the last few days, it's incredibly, incredibly frustrating. I'm hoping that today's ease-of-use continues again, though. It's been nice to not have to restart my dear Daniel anymore—I had to do it twice last night!

23.2.13

Choir Countdown

I was worried for a bit that this wouldn't got through—the first time I tried to load it, I got this 'whoops, that's an error' page, so I was a little upset. Thankfully, the page loaded so I'm able to fill your screen with pointlessness and rather sleep-deprived ramblings once again.

Reading Week is nearly over—Monday is back to the grindstone for me, and into my second half of semester. Looking forward to it, actually, because it's not long until my choir day-trip, and all the singing that comes with that. Yay, choir!

22.2.13

RotG

I finally watched Rise of the Guardians today, because that's all over tumblr, and…wow. I adore Jack Frost, he's the sweetest thing ever. I want more, and more of his past life, please?

20.2.13

Time Off

I'm nearly halfway through my reading week, and wow, I'm loving this. I wish I could live like this all the time, but unfortunately I must be 'responsible' for most of my days….

Oh well.

19.2.13

Shift Work

As much as I logically knew that there was next to no one living on campus for the break, it took until my shift today at work to really sink in. We usually scan in at or three hundred for suppers, but today our grand total scanning was…sixty-nine.

That was the most tedious, long, boring, uneventful shift I've ever worked ever.

I have two more this week.

18.2.13

Drop-Off

The oddest thing happened tonight/this morning: I fell asleep, then about five minutes ago, woke back up for no apparent reason after sleeping for two and a half hours. Very odd, because it usually take me forever to fall asleep, and not with the light on and computer going, without my mask to block light out.

I'm marginally impressed, or at least I would be if this hadn't occurred in the middle of a conversation.

17.2.13

Day One

So my first day of Break: sleeping until 1330, awake until…whatever twenty minutes from now is.

So far, so productive!

16.2.13

First of the First

My forst night of my first reading week, and I'm up, late, talking to someone on Skype because that's what mature, responsible university students do. They stay up until who-knows-when in the morning, doing very little that could be counted towards their degrees.

I think I like this life…!

15.2.13

Summary

It's been a wonderful day today—new music in choir ( a Cape Breton lullaby, which is absolutely gorgeous!), a great pasta salad for supper, and wonderful company of wonderful people.

I also discovered a book-selling site with free shipping and discounts off store-prices. I shall have to avoid that for a while…!

14.2.13

Rather Wonderful

So the rather wonderful happening that I've been (not) subtly alluding to? I met a rather wonderful perso, and we have a rather wonderful relationship and it's all rather wonderful.

I don't think I've stopped grinning yet.

13.2.13

Instant Connection

I saw an interesting post today—something to the effect that, while we are all random people in random places talking about random things…these are still the strongest relationships in our lives. For me, at least, this is true—my best friend and I haven't seen each other in two years, yet we're closer now than we were when we met, two years ago.

I'm curious about what it says about me, society, everything, that this can be so true, and for so many people.

11.2.13

Okay, Omegle

I've recently re-discovered the joy that can be Omegle. Granted, it can be icky and creepy and 'eww-go-away,' but the od time I've met interesting people through there, and had interesting conversations. Because I admit to falling farther and farther down the Sherlock rabbit hole (bad analogy, I'm sorry!) I've recently used Omegle for finding new blogs to follow…and you know, it's not all that bad.

10.2.13

Lucky Land

So I met with my potential landlady today—things went really well! I'm definitely looking to find a job and stay here for the forseable future…!

Studenthood…?

I had a spectacularly unproductive day today, reading wonderful amount of wonderful plottfulness (and a final instalment to a series upon my awakening!), tumblring, and talking to interesting people.

Who says I'm a student…? Nah, couldn't be!

8.2.13

Wondrous Weekend

I'm feeling much better today—not nearly as sick as I was, though my voice is a bit off at times. I have an appointment to look into my potential appartement, and I have reference letters to bring with me.

This shall be a good weekend! I insist!

Cat-Cascade

(Thousands of cat pictures later….)
I finally, finally got all my old photos tranfserred onto Daniel from Alex (I name my computers. Get over it) and found tons of stuff I forgot I even had! It's lovely to look back at them all….

6.2.13

Super-Sick Day!

In the midst of a truly awful day, something lovely happened.  I won't say much more on the subject, because I'm still busy being giddy and glowy, but suffice to say thatI really hope this continues.

5.2.13

Stuffy-Scratchy

My cold has only gotten worse (I'm in a nest of tissues, tea and pillows!), so I'm turning into bed tonight with the hope that I'll be able to breathe and/or speak easily tomorrow. Personally, I'd take a sore throat over a plugged nose any day!

4.2.13

Quick-Fix

Last night I wasn't even able to load this page…and tonight is the night before a midterm, with a lovely head-cold. To bed, to bed.

2.2.13

Formal, Field Trip

Well, I have given into peer pressure, and gotten dolled up for the Formal tonight. Hopefully I get home relatively early—I'm going on a field trip tomorrow! I"ll tell you about it when I get back….

Stats…?

I wish I could show you how incredibly screwed up my stats were last night. I had duplicate months—with different counts. Somewhere, a whole year passed by when none did—it went from October 2010 to November 2011 in one month's space. It was so confusing, and there were two January 2013's, and some months were counted twice, while keeping the stats for the month that actually was previous to them, even though the name got doubled and shifted one month back in time.

Perhaps it was all an odd mirage-y thing? I think I'd be happier with that…except I still have an October 2010 on my counter. Which is anything but accurate.

Odd.
